Went to Mission Peak with my Sony RX-10 and sought out wildlife to photograph rather than my usual landscapes. I'm glad I brought the RX-10 because it is relatively lightweight and has a 200mm lens. The long lens allowed me to photograph from a safe distance!

Mission Peak Tarantula
It's that time of year again when these large tarantulas join Mission Peak hikers on the trails. This one startled me on Peak Meadow trail when I almost stepped on it. At first it started to scurry off but then it reversed course and came toward me when I stopped to photograph it. I used the full length of my lens to take this photograph. Spiders creep me out!
