Mission Peak Full Moon Perigee
I hiked Mission Peak this past Saturday evening, the same day the full moon was at perigee. Perigee and its opposite apogee generally occur once a month, but the moon's wobbly orbit means that the moon's phase can be different during each perigee/apogee. This month's full moon happened to coincide with its perigee making it appear 30 percent brighter and 14 percent larger than any other full moon this year.

About an hour after hiking down Mission Peak, Shalimar and I were in Mountain View having Indian food at the New Saffron Restaurant. It was our first time there. The place was a little cavernous for the decor, but the food was great. Highly recommended!
