Mission Peak Sunset
Another beautiful sunset day at Mission Peak. I hadn't been to Mission Peak for about a month while I was training for the Healdsburg Half Marathon. After coming off a severe ankle sprain at the end of July during a run at Alum Rock, I was left with only about a month to train. Mission Peak runs had to put on hold since I didn't want to risk tweaking my ankles before the race. It was great to finally get back. Mission Peak never disappoints!

Mission Peak Post Healdsburg
As I ran up Peak Meadow Trail, I saw a small fawn standing in the middle of the trail a couple hundred feet in front of me. I quickly retrieved my EOS M I had in my backpack and took this shot. As I only had an 18-55mm lens with me on this particular run, I wasn't able to get a close-up, but I think the photo turned out pretty well. The fawn was looking right at me when I first came up the hill, but then it turned to its left, ready to bound away, just before I took this photo.
