My Birthday at Dio Deka
Shalimar took me to Dio Deka to celebrate my 49th birthday. Where we were going was a secret, but the clue Shalimar gave me was that the restaurant's name consisted of two words beginning with the letter "D". After a few misdirections and U-turns, Shalimar drove to Los Gatos and took me by a restaurant called "Double D's", a sports bar and grill. I was shocked that Shalimar would take me to a sports bar for my birthday, but she said the reviews for their steaks were really good. She tried to pull into their small parking lot, but I pointed out that there was no more parking available. So Shalimar backed out saying she'll find somewhere else to park. But instead of parking near Double D's, Shalimar drove around downtown Los Gatos and parked her car on a side street. From there we walked over to Dio Deka, a Greek restaurant at the bottom of the Los Gatos Hotel. Shalimar was so sly this evening! We both had the Octapothi Scharas and Ktenia as appetizers. For our main entrees, Shalimar had the Lavraki which is a mesquite-grilled Mediterranean Branzino, and I had the Paithakia - two double-cut lamb chops. I ordered a third one for good measure! For dessert we both had the apple tart with vanilla bean gelato. The food was delicious! Thank you Shalimar for such a wonderful birthday dinner!
