Shalimar took me to Jardiniere Restaurant in San Francisco to celebrate my 48th birthday. Jardiniere is located in a landmark building in the Civic Center area within walking distance of the Herbst Theater and the Davies Symphony Hall. The interior is an open, elegant two-story rotunda designed by restauranteur/designer Pat Kuleto. When we arrived, the restaurant was bustling with people eating and drinking on their way to seeing their evening's performances. By 7:30pm, most of the concert and theatre-goers had left giving way to the restaurant's regular dinner crowd. It was all very exciting!

Shalimar and I had the seven-course tasting menu (which changes daily), and I had mine with their wine pairings. The food and wine were absolutely amazing! The halibut they served that evening was simply the best I've ever tasted. The evening was perfect. Thank you Shalimar for such a fun and wonderful birthday!
