2009 Ohlone Wilderness 50K Trail Run
My first 50K race! Whew! It was harder than I thought it would be.
The 22nd Annual Ohlone Wilderness 50K Trail Run is a point-to-point race that traverses the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, a tough 31-mile trek over trails and fire roads. The course crosses sections of four East Bay Regional parks beginning at the Mission Peak Regional Preserve in Fremont and ending at the Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore. Here's a link to my running stats from my Garmin Forerunner 305. I forgot to start it at the beginning of the race, so the mileage is a little bit off. http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=228333
There were 165 starters and 155 finishers. My goal was first to finish the race, then to finish somewhere in the 7-hour range, so I was pleased to finish at 7:41:58 in 100th place. Amazingly, the course record was set today at 4:29:45! http://www.abovethefog.net/Ohlone50K/Prior_Results/2009_Results/2009_results.html
Except where noted, all the photos were taken by Shalimar using a Canon Powershot G10 and a Canon EOS 40D.
