2010 Healdsburg Wine Country Marathon and Half
Shalimar and I went on our annual trip to Healdsburg to race in the Wine Country Marathon and Half-Marathon. This year's races were held on October 10th (10/10/10) - an easy date to remember during our summer of training. Unlike last year, the weather was unseasonably warm and the heat made the race very challenging. The course temperatures ranged between 60 degrees at start time to a high of 96 - a perfect day for a run! Shalimar was trying to set her personal record by beating last year's time of 2:45:02.8 and I was making my third attempt at breaking four hours. I wonder how we did...

Shalimar and I went to dinner at Willy's Seafood and Raw Bar Sunday night after the race. Willy's is a really great restaurant. Highly recommended to anyone traveling to Healdsburg. http://www.starkrestaurants.com/willis_seafood.html
After a well-deserved rest Sunday night, Shalimar and I headed back home Monday morning. We have often talked about stopping to take photos of the Golden Gate Bridge, so we did just that despite my sprained ankle. ;-) This is the Golden Gate Bridge taken from the Marin Headlands.
